மேற்கொண்டு, கிளிநொச்சி முல்லைத்தீவு பகுதிகளில் இருந்து இடம் பெயர்ந்து மன்னார், வவுனியா பகுதிகளில் அமைக்கப்பட்டுள்ள நலன்புரிநிலையங்களில் ஏக்கத்துடன் வாழும் எமது உறவுகளின் உண்மையான நிலைமைகளையும், மன்னார் வைத்தியசாலையில் தங்கியிருந்து சிகிச்சைபெறுபவர்களையும், போரினால் பாதிக்கப்பட்டவர்கள் எதிர்நோக்கும் பிரச்சினைகளையும் நேரடியாக பார்வையிட்டு ஜனாதிபதியின் கவனத்திற்கு கொண்டு வந்துள்ளார்.
அதனைத் தொடர்ந்து யாழ்ப்பாணத்திலும் நேற்று (17) தொடக்கம் 23.04.2009 வரை ஸ்ரான்லி வீதியில் அமைந்துள்ள எமது கட்சியின் பணிமனையில் தங்கியிருந்து யாழ்ப்பாணத்தில் அமைந்துள்ள நலன்புரி நிலையங்களில் தங்கியுள்ள மக்களின் உறவினர்களை சந்தித்து அவர்கள் எதிர்நோக்கும் பிரச்சினைகளையும், அத்துடன் யாழ் மாவட்ட பொதுமக்கள் மற்றும் யாழ்நகர வர்த்தகர்கள் எதிர்நோக்கும் பிரச்சினைகள் பற்றியும் கலந்துரையாடவுள்ளார்.

“யோகசங்கரி” என்னும் மனிதனைப் போன்றவர்களின் தியாகத்தை எளிதில் மறந்து விட்டார்கள். லண்டனில் இவர்களைப் போலவே சகல வசதிகளுடன் வாழ்ந்து கொண்டு வாய்ச்சவாடால் அரசியல் பேசிக்கொண்டு வாழமுடிதவராக யோகசங்கரி இருக்கவில்லை.
விழித்துக்கொள்ள முடியாத ஆழ்ந்த தூக்கத்தில் புலம்பெயர் தமிழ் மக்கள் நடந்து கொண்டிருக்கிறார்கள். தமது உறவினர்களை உண்மையாகவே பலிகொடுத்த சிலர் இந்தப் போராட்டங்களில் உணர்வுகளின் உச்சத்தில் நின்று ஈடுபடுவது இயற்கையே.
ஆனால் பாதுகாப்பு வலயத்தினுள் அகப்பட்டிருக்கும் தமிழ் மக்களை விடுவிக்கப் போராடுவதாக எண்ணி இப்போராட்டங்களில் யாராவது ஈடுபட்டார்களேயானால் அவர்கள் உண்மையாகவே மயக்கத்திலே தான் இருக்கிறார்கள் என்பதுவே கசப்பான உண்மை.
போராட்டம் யாருக்கெதிராக, யாருக்காக நடத்தப்படுகிறது என்பதைப் புலிகள் மறந்து பல நாட்களாவிட்ட உண்மையை இவர்கள் இன்னும் புரிந்து கொள்ளவில்லை. (more…)

Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF) President Veerasingham Anandasangaree has in a letter to President Mahinda Rajapakse urged that the armed forces should not try to move in further into tiger controlled territory so as to prevent civilians being killed and injured.
He has asked that the Govt should get the UN to intervene and evacuate the entrapped civilians immediately.
The full text of the letter is given below:

SAVE THE IDPs IN DISTRESS
I regret to note that my repeated requests to you to prevent the army from advancing further, had not been considered favourably. Now that they are on the last lap of the war and the LTTE had taken their position in the midst of the innocent people, using them as a human shield, the casualty rate has increased many fold. The lives of over two hundred thousand people trapped in Newmathalan, which is also a LTTE controlled area, are at stake. We can’t expect the LTTE to conform to any norms but the forces can. Having earned a good name for keeping the casualty rate at low level, by sacrificing several of their comrades, they cannot now, during the last lap of the war and in such a short period, lose it. The situation is disastrous and is deteriorating day by day and your intervention cannot be delayed any more. When the truth comes to light one day, the whole world will condemn us, the Government and the People. Please rest assured that this advice is given with good intentions and should not be construed as something done for personal gains. (more…)

The Tamil United Liberation Front leader, V. Anandasangaree has described the Tamil National Parliamentarian’s decision to reject Indian Foreign Secretary Shivshankar Menon’s invitation for talks next week as foolish and detrimental.
The following is the statement from the TULF chief:
“Shree Menon would not have extended this invitation without a reasonable cause. All the TNA Parliamentarians know fully well that they have no moral right to represent the Tamils of the North and the East. (more…)

TULF leader Anandasangaree yesterday called on TNA MPs “to keep out of Tamil Nadu politics at least till the parliamentary elections are over” saying they should reconsider their decision to turn down an invitation from the Indian Foreign Secretary for a meeting with him in New Delhi.
“Foreign Secretary Shiv Shankar Menon would not have extended this invitation without reasonable cause,” Anandasangaree said in a press statement where he said the rejection of the invitation was “foolish” and “detrimental to the (Tamil) cause.” (more…)

உணர்வைத் தூண்டும் விடயங்களில் அரசு பாராமுகமாக இருக்க முடியாது
எதுவித பதவிவுக்கும் நான் ஆசைப்பட்டவன் அல்ல என்பதையும் அதிகாரத்தை பெற நான் பேராசை கொண்டவனும் அல்ல என்பதை நீங்கள் நன்கு அறிவீர்கள். சிங்களவர்கள், தமிழர்கள், முஸ்லீம்கள் அல்லது வேறு இனத்தைச் சேர்ந்தவர்கள் என்ற பேதமின்றி அநேக மக்களின் நலன் விரும்பி என்ற காரணத்தினால் எமது மக்களை பாதிக்கின்ற, எவ்விதமான, பிரச்சினைகள் ஏற்படும் போதும் அவற்றை தங்களுக்கு சுட்டிக்காட்ட வேண்டியது எனது கடமையாகும். இடம் பெயர்ந்த மக்கள், அத்தகையோரின் எண்ணிக்கை, விடுதலைப் புலிகளின் கட்டுப்பாட்டுக்குள் அகப்பட்டுள்ள மக்களுக்கு ஏற்பட்டுள்ள பிரச்சினைகள், அப்பிரச்சினைகளின் தீர்வுக்கு வழிமுறை போன்ற விடயங்களே இன்று பெருமளவில் மக்கள் மத்தியில் விவாதிக்கப்பட்டு வருகின்றது. இலங்கையின் வரலாறு காணாத உணர்ச்சிமிக்க இடம்பெயர்ந்த மக்கள் சம்பந்தப்பட்ட விடயங்களில் அசட்டையீனம் காட்ட முடியாது. நான் அண்மையில் நடைபெற்ற கூட்டத்தில் சுட்டிக்காட்டியதுபோல பல்வேறு மூலமாக கிடைத்த மாறுப்பட்ட தகவல்களின்படி முதலாவதாக இடம்பெயர்ந்த மக்களின் எண்ணிக்கை சம்பந்தமாகவும், அந்த எண்ணிக்கையினருக்கு ஏற்பட்டுள்ள பல்வேறு தேவைகள் சம்பந்தமாகவும் குழப்ப நிலை ஏற்பட்டுள்ளமையால் அப் பிரச்சினையை எவ்வாறு அணுக வேண்டும் என்ற நிலை ஏற்பட்டுள்ளது. வன்னியிலிருந்து இடம்பெயர்ந்து வவுனியா முகாம்களில் தங்கவைக்கப்பட்டிருப்பவர்களை தமிழர் விடுதலைக் கூட்டணியின் தலைவர் வி.ஆனந்தசங்கரி நேரில் சென்று பார்வையிட்டுள்ளார். வவுனியா நெலுக்குளம் முகாமுக்குச் சென்ற அவர், முகாமிலிருந்தவர்களுடன் கலந்துரையாடியதுடன், அவர்களின் குறைகளைக் கேட்டறிந்து கொண்டார். எனினும், ஊடகவியலாளர்கள் எவரும் செய்தி சேகரிக்க முகாமுக்குள் அனுமதிக்கப் படவில்லையென பிராந்தியச் செய்தியாளர் அறியத்தருகிறார். அத்துடன், வவுனியாவிலுள்ள முகாம்களுக்கு வழங்கப்பட்டு வரும் பாதுகாப்பில் எந்தவிதமான மாற்றத்தையும் அவதானிக்க முடியவில்லையென அங்கிருந்து கிடைக்கும் தகவல்கள் தெரிவிக்கின்றன.
