Appeal to the leaders of Political Parties and the People of Tamil Nadu.
Dear Leaders and People of Tamil Nadu,
Of all the countries in this world India more particularly Tamil Nadu one of its 28 States and Union Territories, should be more concerned about Sri Lanka than any other State in India, being its immediate neighbour, separated by the Palk-Strait a distance of only about 30 Kilometers. Our languages Tamil and Sinhala and our culture have their routes in India. Both the Sinhala Buddhists and Hindu Tamils worship the common Deities such as Ganapathy, Murugan, Eeswaran, Vishnu, Pathini, Sarasvathy, Luxmi and such others except that Ganapathy and Murugan are their Gana-theiyo and Kathirgama-theiyo. We the Sinhalese and Tamils have many more things in common such as New Year, family names etc. Names such as Seeta, Luxman, Arujuna, Indirajith, Luxmi and many others are very common among the Sinhalese. “துரதிஷ்டவசமாக தமிழ் நாட்டு தமிழர், இலங்கை பற்றி அதிகம் தெரியாமலும். களநிலைமைபற்றி; பெரிதாக அறிந்து கொள்ளாமலும் தமிழர் பிரச்சினைகளுக்கு பெரும் பங்கம் ஏற்படுத்திக்கொண்டு; இருப்பது பற்றி உணராமல் தமிழ் நாட்டு மக்களின் உணர்வுகளை தட்டி எழுப்பிக்கொண்டிருக்கின்றார்கள். சில தமிழ் நாட்டு அரசியல் வாதிகளால் தப்பாக வழிநடத்தப்பட்டு இரண்டு மூன்றுஅரசியல் கட்சிகள் நீங்கலாக ஏனையவை எல்லாம் எமது பிரச்சினையை வைத்து பந்தாடி ஒருவரை ஒருவர்மிஞ்சி செயற்படுகின்றனர். மேலும் மேலும் அடி வாங்கும் பந்தால் நிச்சயம் துன்பத்தை இனிதாங்க முடியாது இங்கே பந்தாக குறிப்பிடப்படுவது அப்பாவித்தமிழ் மக்களையே” வீ. ஆனந்தசங்கரி தலைவர்-த.வி.கூ
அன்புடையீர்,
உலகநாடுகளில் இந்தியாவின் 28 மானிலங்களில் முப்பது கிலோ மீட்டர் இடைவெளியால் பிரிக்கப்பட்டுள்ள இலங்கைக்கு மிக அண்மையிலுள்ள மானிலமாகிய தமிழ் நாடே ஏனைய இந்திய மானிலங்களிலும் பார்க்க இலங்கை பிரச்சினையில் கூடிய அக்கறை கொள்ள வேண்டிய மானிலமாகும். எமது மொழிகளாகிய தமிழும் சிங்களமும் எமது கலாச்சாரமும் இந்திய தொடர்புடையனவாகும். சிங்கள பௌத்தர்களும் இந்து தமிழர்களும் கணபதி முருகன் ஈஸ்வரன் விஷ்ணு பத்தினி சரஸ்வதி இலட்சுமி போன்ற பொது தெய்வங்களை வணங்குகின்றனர். இதில் ஒரே ஒரு வேறுபாடு என்னவெனில், சிங்களவர்கள் கணபதியை கணதெய்யோ எனவும் முருகனை கதிரகம தெய்யோ எனவும் அழைக்கின்றனர். பொது புதுவருடம் பொதுவான குடும்பப்பெயர்களை சிங்கள மக்களும் தமிழ் மக்களும் கொண்டுள்ளனர். சீதா இலக்ஷ்மன் அருச்சுனன் இந்திரஜித் இலட்சுமி போன்ற பெயர்கள் பல தமிழர்களும் சிங்களவர்களும் உபயோகிக்கும் பொது பெயர்களாகும். தமிழ் நாட்டிலும் இலங்கையிலும் உள்ள சில அரசியல் தலைவர்கள் இருபக்க மக்களையும் தட்டி எழுப்ப உபயோகிப்பது தொப்புள் கொடி உறவை ஞாபகமூட்டியே. தமிழ் நாட்டு தமிழர்களுக்கும் இலங்கை தமிழர்களுக்கும் எவ்வாறு தொப்புள்கொடி உறவு இருக்கின்றதோ அதே போன்ற தொப்புள் கொடி உறவு சிங்கள மக்களுக்கும் மதுரை தமிழர்களுக்கும் உண்டு என்பதை பெருமளவிலான சிரேஸ்ட தமிழ்நாட்டு தலைவர்களும் தெரிந்திருக்கமாட்டார்கள். இந்த உண்மையை தமிழ் நாட்டை சேர்ந்த 0.1மூ மக்கள் கூட அறிந்திருக்கமாட்டார்கள். மேன்மை தங்கிய மஹிந்த ராஜபக்ஷ அவர்கள்
இலங்கை ஜனாதிபதி,
அலரி மாளிகை,

அன்புடையீர்,
வன்னிவாழ் மக்களின் உயிருக்கு அச்சுறுத்தல்
விடுதலைப் புலிகளின் கட்டுப்பாட்டுப் பிரதேசத்திற்குள் அகப்பட்டு வாழும் அப்பாவி மக்கள் மத்தியில் பாதிக்கப்படுவோரின் எண்ணிக்கை கடந்த இரண்டு மூன்று வாரங்களுக்குள் திடீரென உயர்ந்துள்ளமையை மிக அக்கறையுடனும் மிகுந்த துன்பத்துடனும் தங்கள் கவனத்துக்கு கொண்டு வர விரும்புகிறேன். இராணுவம் வன்னிக்குள் புகுந்ததில் இருந்து, இன்று ஏற்பட்டுள்ள நிலை மிக அதிகப்படியாக உயர்ந்துள்ளது. நான் இரு சமூகங்களுக்கிடையில் எதுவித பேதமும் காணாதவன் என்பதை தாங்கள் அறிவீர்கள் ஒரு தமிழராக இருந்தாலும்ஓர் சிங்களவராக இருந்தாலும், ஒரு இஸ்லாமியராக இருந்தாலும் அவர்களின் உயிர் மிகப் பெறுமதியானவையாகும். இன்றுள்ள யுத்த நிலைமையில் இராணுவம் பதிலடி கொடாது தொடர்ந்து தாக்கத்தை சகிக்க வேண்டுமென நான் எதிர்பார்க்கவில்லை. இராணுவத்தினர் தம் தாய் நாட்டை காக்கும் பணியில் ஈடுபட்டுள்ளனர். அதற்கு மாறாக விடுதலைப் புலிகளோ ஏறக்குறைய யுத்தத்தில் தோன்றுப்போன நிலையிலும் ஆணவம் கொண்ட தமது தலைவனின் பணிப்பின் பேரில் போராடுகின்றனர். தாம் பலாத்;காரமாக தம் பாதுகாப்புக்காக பிடித்து வைத்துள்ள பொதுமக்களின் பாதுகாப்புப் பற்றி யோசிக்காது எதுவித கேள்வியும் கேட்காது போராடி மடிவதே அவர்களின் கடமையாகும். Colombo, 18 February, (Asiantribune.com): V. Anandasangaree has expressed serious concern over the sudden escalation of the civilian death rates since of late. He has urged that the Forces be asked to restrain from any further aerial bombing and also to stop firing shells and artillery attacks. “ The capture of the remaining areas could wait till all the trapped persons are brought out safely, while the war goes on, says the leader of the Tamil United Liberation Front.V. In an appeal to Sri Lanka President Mahinda Rajapaksa , Veteran Tamil politician Anandasangaree pointed out that the number of deaths during a period of two weeks from October 24, 2008 to 9th November was only 8 and the number injured was 29. But he said that the total deaths during last week were 288 and the number injured was 766 and on last Saturday it was 55 and 109 respectively. (more…)

The military thrust against the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Eelam (LTTE) and thereby weakening them, has certainly offered fresh options to the moderate Tamil political parties in Sri Lanka.
The Tamil parties have two options. Either join hands together or work separately but with a view to aiming at a common goal – to achieve a substantial political solution to the Tamil minority.
With the apparent defeat of the LTTE, it is no secret that even the Vaddukodai resolution of 1976 is laid to eternal rest. (more…)

As a duly elected Member of Parliament for several years, he was the one who helped in the development of both the Kilinochchi and Mullaitivu districts. Names of those civilians arriving at the IDPs’ centers to be made known, relatives should be allowed to accommodate IDPs coming to the Government areas and the local social organizations, members of the rural development societies and local NGOs must be allowed to assist the IDPs and visit them. These were requests made by V. Anandasangaree, to the President of Sri Lanka. (more…)

வன்னியில் விடுதலைப் புலிகளிடமிருந்து உயிரை பணயம் வைத்து தப்பி ஓடி வவுனியா பிரதேசத்துக்குள் வந்துள்ள இடம் பெயர்ந்த மக்களைப் பற்றிய அறிய மிக ஆவலாக அவர்களின் உறவினர்கள் பிற நாடுகளிலிருந்து பல தொலைபேசி அழைப்புக்கள் நேற்றும் இன்றும் வந்து கொண்டிருக்கின்றன. முதலில் அவர்கள் உயிருடன் இருக்கின்றார்களா என்பதையும், அவர்கள் எங்கே இருக்கின்றார்கள் என்பதையும் அறிய விரும்புகின்றனர். Leader of the Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF) and President of the Democratic Tamil National Alliance (DTNA), V. Anandasangaree, the veteran Tamil political leader who had represented the Kilinochchi electorate for 15 long years in Parliament told the Sunday Observer that the ongoing agitations, demonstrations, hartals and self-immolations in Tamil Nadu clamouring a ceasefire in the LTTE’s last bastian in Mullaitivu were “counter-productive”. It was his clear stand that the enthusiasm shown in Tamil Nadu by various organisations, student movements, university students, film stars and surprisingly lawyers as well would have a negative impact back here at this point of time, he said. “அரச கட்டுப்பாட்டு பகுதிக்கு வரும் மக்கள் ஐ.நா. நிறுவனங்களின் கண்காணிப்புடன் அல்லது ஒத்துழைப்புடன் பராமரிக்கப்படல் வேண்டும்”.
வன்னியில் சிக்கியிருக்கும் மக்களை தாம் விரும்பிய பாதுகாப்பான இடங்களுக்குச் செல்வதற்கு புலிகள் எதுவித நிபந்தனைகளுமின்றி அனுமதிக்க வேண்டுமென ஜனநாயகத் தமிழ் தேசியக் கூட்டணி வேண்டு கோள் விடுத்துள்ளது. அதேநேரம் அந்த மக்களை பேரவலத்திலிருந்து மீட்பதே இன்றைய முதன்மையான பணியென்றும் மேற் படி கூட்டணி சுட்டிக்காட்டியுள்ளது.
