“Prabhakaran we have shed enough blood. It is enough now. Please leave us alone to look after ourselves without being looked after by your ruthless goons. Ketheshwaran and I were close friends. He was an intellectual par excellence and a great negotiator.”
Says Mr. Douglas Devananda to the Daily News today, condemning the murder of Mr. Ketheshwaran Loganathan.
I was engaged in a conversation by exchanging comments on this post with an anonymous Sri Lankan Tamil regarding the matter of “Pressure group against LTTE from Sri Lankan Tamil community”.
There, I highlighted the fact that we need a collective voice of “Tamils against terrorism” to say that LTTE is not their sole representative.
But, this brutal attack on a fellow Tamil citizen display once again that LTTE is not representing Tamils at all (Even if they are not the sole representative anyway). There’s no difference between Prabha’s LTTE and any other brutal Monarchy in the history, who keep on killing thousands of people, just grab more political power.
Quote from Daily News.
Describing the assassination as a great shock to him personally, Tamil United Liberation Front Leader V. Anandasangaree said: “Prabhakaran must now come out of his den and tell us what he wants and how much more blood he requires to quench his thirst. No man with any sense will kill a person like Kethesh, a perfect gentleman and a great intellectual.”
“His demise is a great loss to the Tamil community in particular and the country as a whole. A soft spoken man, he was acknowledged by many as the best choice for the very important post he held.
This type of killings will not help Prabhakaran and his gang. Ultimately he will find only Thamilselvam as the sole representatives of the Tamils. How can Prabhakaran still call himself as a freedom fighter?” Anandasangaree queried.

Press Release 13.08.06
I very strongly condemn the brutal killing of the 17 civilians attached to “Action Against Hunger” a French N.G.O. that is engaged in Tsunami Relief work. As their name suggests they are a lot, the country can’t lose at this juncture when people in the Trincomalee District’s Muthur are virtually dying of Hunger and thirst.
There is no point in saying “Not I, he did it”. Whoever did, it must be traced and punished. Those responsible for these killings had foolishly done it without realizing the consequences. This incident is going to seriously affect the country especially during a national calamity in the future. This N.G.O. itself came to do relief work with the Tsunami victims. (more…)

COLOMBO: TULF leader V. Anandasangaree yesterday condemned the assassination bid on former EPDP Parliamentarian S. Sivathasan saying the LTTE leaders have lost control of their cadres who act on their own.
Pointing to the death of a three-year-old in Tuesday’s incident, Anandasangaree said the LTTE leaders could not care less since the children of their leaders are studying abroad. “But we should worry about it,” he added. (more…)
