The Tamil United Liberation Front (TULF) is to contest the forthcoming general election without aligning with any alliance.
TULF President V. Anandasangaree said that the TULF would definitely contest alone.
“We will be contesting definitely. As it is, we are going alone,” he told The Nation.
Anandasangaree said that the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) was misleading Tamils, adding that although the Eelam People’s Democratic Party (EPDP) of Minister Douglas Devananda was contesting alone, people would not vote for it as they were fed up with extortion and killings committed by armed paramilitary groups. TULF leader V Anandasangaree said the TNA leaders cannot claim credit for the votes received in the North and East by opposition candidate Sarath Fonseka.
The veteran Tamil politician said the people in those areas had expressed their protest against armed paramilitary groups by voting against the ruling party candidate.
He pointed out that President Mahinda Rajapaksa might have received a higher number of votes if the government had acted to disarm the paramilitary groups in the North and East, too, with the elimination of the LTTE in May last year. (more…)

TULF President, Mr. V. Anandasangaree, has issued a statement relating to the January 26 Presidential Election endorsing neither of the two main contenders nor any other candidate and has also not asked supporters of his party to boycott the election.
He had instead set down 15 proposals for implementation in the event of any of the contenders getting elected and asked the voters to pressurize candidates of their choice to implement these proposals if elected. (more…)

*போரழிவுகளுக்கு உரிய நஷ்டஈடு வழங்கல்.
* அழிவுகள், உயிரிழப்புகள் குறித்து உண்மை விவரங்களைத் திரட்டுதல்.
* தமிழ்க் கைதிகளை விடுவித்தல்.
*பயங்கரவாதத் தடைச் சட்டத்தை நீக்குதல்.
போன்றவை உட்படப் பல விடயங்களை ஆனந்தசங்கரி இந்தக் கோரிக்கைக் கடிதத்தில் வலியுறுத்தியுள்ளார்.

The Supreme Court yesterday refused Express Newspapers Ltd leave to appeal from a judgement from the Civil Appeal Court.
Appellant-defendants Express Newspapers Ltd, Veerakesari illustrated weekly Editor S. Nadaraja and V. Warja appealed against the judgement of the Provincial Civil Appeal Court that affirmed the judgement of the District Court awarding Rs. 50 million to TULF Leader V. Anandasangaree.
They sought to set aside the judgement of the Civil Appeal Court.
TULF Leader V. Anandasangaree filed the defamation case in the District Court claiming 10 million rupees damages from the respondent-defendants.
Anandasangaree sued the appellant-defendants for an article published in the Veerakesari illustrated weekly dated April 8, 2004 was malicious and defamatory of him.
The Bench comprised Chief Justice Asoka de Silva, Justice Jagath Balapatabendi and Justice P.A. Ratanayake PC.

சங்கரியின் வெற்றியே சத்தியத்தின் வெற்றி!
இந்த மாநகர சபைத் தேர்தல் அதிமுக்கியமான- உலகத்தின் பார்வையையே யாழ் மாநகரை நோக்கி ஈரத்துள்ள தேர்தல் ஆகும்! இங்கு பலரும் பல கருத்துக்களை முன் வைத்திருக்கிறார்கள். ஆனாலும் தமிழர் விடுதலைக் கூட்டணிக்கு யாழ் மாநகர மக்கள் ஏன் வாக்களிக்க வேண்டும்? என்ற கேள்விக்கு எமது மக்களுக்கு நாம் விடுக்கும் தாழ்மையான வேண்டுகோள்!
எமது தலைவர்களான அமிர்தலிங்கம், யோகேஸ்வரன், கலாநிதி. நீலன் திருச்செல்வம், திருமதி. சரோஜினி யோகேஸ்வரன், பொன் சிவபாலன் போன்ற பலருடைய கடமைகள் முற்றாக முடியுமுன் அவர்கள் உயிர் இடையில் எம்மவர்களால் பறிக்கப்பட்டது. அவர்கள் விட்டுச் சென்ற கட்சியையும், கட்சிப் பணிகளையும், கட்சியின் சின்னமான உதயசூரியன் கொடியையும் இறுதிவரை கீழே விடாது, தனி மனிதராகப் போராடிக்காத்த கௌரவத்திற்குரியவர் எமது கட்சியின் இன்றைய தலைவர் ஆனந்தசங்கரி அவர்களே!
கட்சிக்கு சோதனைகள் வந்தகாலத்திலும் தனக்கு உயிராபத்து வந்தவேளைகளிலும், யாரிடமும் சரணாகதி அடையாமல் - கட்சியின் கொள்கை காத்து நின்றவர் ஆனந்தசங்கரி அவர்கள்!
தமிழினத்தை அரும்பாடுபட்டு வழிநடத்தி தம் வாழ்வையே எம் இனத்தின் உரிமைப் போராட்டத்திற்கு அர்ப்பணித்த எம் தலைவர்களின் கொள்கை வழிவந்து - இடையில் அவர்களைக் காட்டிக்கொடுத்துவிட்டு தமிழ்த் தேசியக் கூட்டமைப்பு என்ற கூட்டுக்குள் ஒழிந்து கொண்டவர்கள் - இன்று இன உரிமை முழக்கமிட்டு உங்களிடம் வாக்குக் கேட்பது எமக்கு வேதனையைத் தருகிறது. தமது தலைவர்களையும், சகாக்களையும், கட்சியையும் தங்கள் பதவி ஒன்றிற்காகவே மறந்தவர்கள் - எம் மக்களையும் அவ்வாறே மறந்தவர்கள் என்பதை வன்னி அவலத்தின்போது கண்டுகொண்டோம்!
அரசியல் தீர்வுமூலம் நாம் உரிமைகளைப் பெற முடியும் என்றும், உலக நாடுகளின் ஆதரவும் குறிப்பாக இந்தியாவின் அனுசரணையும், தமிழ் மக்களை அவர்களின் எதிர்பார்ப்புக்களுடன் வாழவைப்பதற்கும், தமிழரசுக் கட்சிக் காலம் தொடக்கம் எமது தலைவர்கள் - தந்தை செல்வாவின் தலைமையில் ஏனையவர்களுடன் இணைந்து தன்னலமற்று செயற்பட்டதைத் தமிழ்ப்பேசும் மக்கள், அதிலும் குறிப்பாக யாழ் மாநகரத்து மக்கள் ஒருபோதும் மறந்துவிடமாட்டார்கள்.
இன்றைக்குத் தந்தை செல்வாவின் பெயரையும், அவரது தமிழரசுக் கட்சியையும், வீட்டுச் சின்னத்தையும் அடாத்தாக பறித்தெடுத்து - கொள்கைகளுக்கு எதிராக பாவித்த குற்றம்தான் எம்மக்களை இன்று சொல்லொணா அவல நிலைக்கு ஆளாக்கியிருக்கிறது என்று எண்ணத் தோன்றுகிறது! இதனை முன்கூட்டியே உணர்ந்துதான் தந்தை அவர்கள் தமிழர்களைக் கடவுள் தான் காப்பாற்ற வேண்டும் என்று சொன்னார் போலும்!
எமது கட்சித் தலைவர்களையும் தொண்டர்களையும் மாறிமாறி குண்டுகள் - துரோகி என்ற பொய்க்குற்றச் சாட்டில் சரித்தபொழுது – சரிந்தவர்களின் உடல்களுக்குக் கூட அஞ்சலி செலுத்தவே யாழ் மண்ணிற்கு வராத இன்றைய கூட்டமைப்பினர் -அன்று ஆனந்தசங்கரி அவர்களிடம் மரணச் சடங்குகளை ஒப்படைத்துவிட்டு ஒதுங்கிநின்றவர்களே! எமது கட்சிக்காரர்கள் குண்டுகளால் சரிந்தபோதெல்லாம் சளைக்காமல் யாழ்மண்ணுக்கு துணிவுடன ஓடிவந்து அவர்களின் இறுதிச் சடங்குகளை முன்னின்று நடத்தி, கட்சியின் கடமைகளை ஏற்று நடத்திய கடமைவீரன் தலைவர் ஆனந்தசங்கரி அவர்களே ஆவார்!
எமது தலைவர்கள் விட்டுச் சென்ற கட்சிக்கு சோதனைகளும் அச்சுறுத்தல்களும் வந்த பொழுதெல்லாம், முகம்கொடுத்து - பணியமறுத்து – உண்மைகளை உரத்துக் கூறியவரும் தலைவர் ஆனந்தசங்கரி ஒருவரே!
தமிழர் விடுதலைக் கூட்டணியை தீவிரவாத மிரட்டல்களிலிருந்து மட்டுமல்ல, அரசுடன் சேர்ந்து வெற்றிலையில் இணையுமாறு விடுத்த வேண்டுகோளையும் நிராகரித்தவர் ஆனந்தசங்கரி அவர்களே! அன்று 70களில் அரசின் அமைச்சர் பதவியை நிராகரித்து, தனியாக தமிழ்க் காங்கிரஸின் பாராளுமன்ற உறுப்பினராக இருந்து தமிழர் கூட்டணியை ஸ்தாபித்தவர்களுள் ஒருவருமாகிய அரசியல் நேர்மையாளர் ஆனந்தசங்கரி அவர்களே!
எமது தலைவர்கள் விட்டுச் சென்ற தமிழர் விடுதலைக் கூட்டணியின் கொள்கையையும் கொடியையும் காத்துநின்ற, ஐ.நா - யுனெஸ்கோ விருதுபெற்ற மதிப்புக்குரிய ஆனந்தசங்கரி அவர்களுக்கு, எமது மண்ணில் உதயசூரியனுக்கோர் உரிமை வழங்கி, எம் தலைவர்களின் கனவுகளை நினைவாக்கிட, ஜனநாயகத்தை மீள மலரவைக்க, எமது இனத்தின் உயிர்குடித்த எம்மவர்களின் துப்பாக்கிகளுக்கும் நிரந்தரமாக ஓய்வு கொடுக்க, எமது யாழ் மாநகர மக்களாகிய உங்களை எமது கட்சியின் சின்னமான உதயசூரியனுக்கு வாக்குகளை வழங்கி அவரை வெற்றிபெறுவதற்கு உரிமையுடன் வேண்டிக்கொள்கிறோம்.
சத்தியம், உண்மை, நீதி ஒருபோதும் தோற்க முடியாது! தோற்கவும் கூடாது!

TULF leader and lead candidate of the Democratic Tamil National Alliance (DTNA) for the Jaffna Municipal Council V. Anandasangaree in his campaign trail in Jaffna said that the Tamil National Alliance (TNA) - the LTTE proxies should be got rid of by the ballot similar to how the ruthless LTTE was got rid of by bullets.
With the Local Government polls campaigns gathering momentum in Jaffna and Vavuniya the Tamil political parties in the fray after almost two decades of war in the North are all out to highlight the atrocities committed by the LTTE to the Tamils in the North and the East. (more…)
